We are a group of Third Order Regular (TOR) Franciscans ministering in the areas of Formation, Vocations, Associates, and Leadership. Our meetings are all about our passion for the Third Order Franciscan life,
how we can communicate our Franciscan heritage,
and best serve as companions to those who are in formation in our communities.
We support and encourage each other in our ministries.

We are always looking for past members who can add to our historical background.
This is our story. Please contact us if you have information. May the Lord give you peace!
Brief outline of our history:
1996 – First discussions of Franciscan Vocation Ministers at the National Religious Vocation Association (NRVC) Convocation for the possibility of gathering to dream, network, and support one another as Franciscan women engaged in the very challenging ministries of vocation and formation.
1997 – Next Generation of Franciscan Women with 35 participants gathered at Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, PA
1998 to 2006 (2003 was skipped) - Next Generation of Franciscans gathered in different locations where the annual Franciscan Federation meetings were held. Note: It appears that at some point, Leadership and Associate Ministers had been invited to the work groups.
2007 to 2009 – Gatherings were held at Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, IL. In 2008, the name was changed to “Next Generation of Franciscan Mentors” because of the long standing misconception that the annual gatherings were for new members. The new name clarifies that participants are the ministers serving prospective and newer members.
2010 – The gathering was moved to the Portiuncula Center for Prayer (The PORT) in Frankfort, IL.
